Students shouldn’t have to choose between groceries and graduation.
Half of City Colleges students identify as food insecure. Access to a no-cost, reliable food source is critical to staying on track toward a degree or credential, and ultimately, a family sustaining career.
In September, City Colleges launched an expanded partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to step up our response to food insecurity. This Food Security for Life initiative includes expanded on-campus food markets, snacks to go for all students, meals –to go for eligible students, and stronger connections to public benefits.
Feed a student, support your community.
As federal funding for food assistance is slashed, any amount helps us provide food and resources to our students.
Your donation will go directly to food resources for students and their families, including:
- Fresh and shelf stable groceries
- Frozen meals to go
- Snacks available around campus
Any amount helps, and if you make a donation of $150 or more, you can opt in for a City Colleges t-shirt to show that you are a champion of our city’s students.

You Can Help
Your generosity has not only brought me closer to achieving my dreams but has also inspired me to one day give back to others in need, just as you have done for me. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and to working hard every day to make a positive impact.
City Colleges of Chicago empowers all residents of Chicago and beyond to better themselves, their families, and their communities.
